How to Choose Good Pro-Con Essay Topics
How to Choose Good Pro-Con Essay TopicsGood pro con essay topics tend to be developed from consideration of several factors. Knowing how to choose the best essay topics can help students become more confident in their ability to create a paper that is not only competent but also intellectually satisfying for their teachers.Every student will naturally want to do their own research in order to produce an excellent writing assignment. This is not a bad thing, but students should know that doing their own research to help them produce an essay is not the same as doing a whole lot of research. In fact, doing too much research may actually hurt their writing effort. The key is to have more focused research and focus on the pro con essay topics that will assist students in getting as much information as possible. The best pro con essay topics come from the 'real world' sources. Students who have a wealth of information already at their fingertips are more likely to focus their research effo rts on these materials. In other words, when using information as part of the pro con essay topics, students should not be afraid to take an initiative and include their own original research and expertise. Whether it is the political parties and candidates, crime, personal experiences, or any other type of subject that students feel would benefit from having as a topic, the choices are limitless. Finally, students should be aware that the topic should be discussed with the teacher so that it will be able to fit into the student's pace and needs. One of the most important things to do in this situation is to talk about the possibility of adding the current or past problems of the topic to the current or past discussions that have taken place. Not only will this be interesting to readers but it also has the potential to bring up certain issues that may have been discussed between students but that the students have since forgotten about.Pro con essay topics should come from the student's experience and thought, but should not be directly copied from another student's project. To do so would not only be disrespectful to the previous student but it would also be pointless. Instead, the process should be one of creating new material and discussing it with the teacher so that the two parties will become a part of the topic.

Vick rocks
The Michael Vick saga is the story of a man who had everything and lost it all. And I cannot remember a tale more atrocious than his. In 2001, the Atlanta Falcons selected Vick to be their Photo credit: Leah C., Grand Island, NEfranchise quarterback. He was seen as the savior of the team. The Falcons were so sure about Vick, they traded a shot at getting LaDainian Tomlinson, who many à considered the best running back in the NFL. After the 2002 season, when Vick led the Falcons to the playoffs with a 9-6-1 record and beat Brett Favre in Lambeau Field, he received the biggest contract in NFL history: $130 million for 10 years. The following year, Vick missed most of the season with a broken ankle. In 2004, he led Atlanta to the NFC Championship but fell short. Last year, Vickââ¬â¢s legal issues began to mount. In January, he was held at an airport on possession of marijuana, but tests revealed no illegal substances and he was never charged. In April, Vick was charged and con victed of dogfighting. His sentencing date ââ¬â December 10th ââ¬â was the same day the Falcons would play the Saints on Monday Night Football. He was sentenced to 23 months in prison. In my opinion, this penalty is not harsh enough. By forcing innocent dogs to fight to the death, Vick has disgraced his family, the Falcons, and the city of Atlanta. Vick had a dogfighting ring on his property and mass graves for the burial of these dogs yet he initially pleaded not guilty. This is a testament to how immature Michael Vick really is. Vick himself made me mad enough, but then I watched the Monday Night game. ââ¬Å"Free Vickâ⬠signs were visible around the stadium. When Roddy White scored a touchdown, he displayed a ââ¬Å"Free Mike Vickâ⬠T-shirt. I could only think, Do they know what this man did? He killed innocent animals for his own amusement. And, to me, the reaction by the Falcon fans was distasteful and atrocious. Vick deserved to be disciplined. Atlanta must realize the severity of his actions. The Falcons and their fans need to move on. To me, Vick has played his last down in the National Football League. And rightfully so. Michael Vick is no hero. He was an average quarterback who could run. But itââ¬â¢s time for the Falcons to move on and forget him.

The researchers reported that self-efficacy was considerably higher in the participatory group, which exercised regularly for the entire six-month period. Devotion to maintaining exercise was influenced more by the social aspects of group cohesion than interest in the actual task. Many of the women stated that they felt an increased motivation to continue exercising longer when they were a part of a group, as opposed to being alone. Hence, exercise self-efficacy was considerably higher in the participatory group, which regularly attended the aquatic therapy program for six months. Appraisal: There was no blinding in this study. Both groups, the participation group and the nonadherence group, were formed naturally by the subjects. Women who engaged in exercise infrequently were not included in this study due to inconsistent exercise performance, which would make it increasingly difficult to gather accurate data. Cyber Warfare And The United States - 1059 Words
Cyber capabilities are evolving rapidly every day which makes cyber-attacks more prevalent in the present day. In the U.S., the most notable and highly debated international cyber-attacks tie back to China. ââ¬Å"For years, the United States has argued that economic espionage by governments is wrong and should stopâ⬠. It was not until recently that the United States made this argument heard. In September of 2015, President Obama announced that the U.S. and Chinese governments had reached a deal against cyber espionage. There are many different explanations as to what the causes are that ultimately led the U.S. and China to reach this agreement including, efforts to promote international norm, loss of sensitive information and economicâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This mechanismââ¬â¢s purpose is to review the timeliness and quality of replies to requests for information and assistance as it relates to concerns of malicious cyber activity for either country and it establishe s a hotline. The first causative factor that ultimately led to the agreement between the U.S. and China is the efforts of the U.S. to promote some sort of international norm for cyber economic espionage. The U.S faced numerous difficulties throughout the Obama administration when it came to gathering support for the economic cyber espionage they faced from China. For instance, the Mandiant Report released in February 2013 discusses the concerns of Chinese economic cyber espionage and led to new strategy on theft of trade secrets, although; the U.S. lacked the support of other countries when trying to advance international support against such economic espionage and consequently made no improvements. Also in 2014, the U.S. attempted to emphasize a norm by indicting Chinese military personnel and still lacked international support. These examples show how the United Statesââ¬â¢ continuously failed efforts to formulate an international norm against Chinese cyber espionage ultimately led to the U.S. China deal being put into effect. Personal Statement My Motivation - 1188 Words
I grew up in what I like to call, a ââ¬Ëloose familyââ¬â¢. That doesn t exactly mean we had no values or close communication. I say that with the perspective I now have as a 24 year old, young man. Without going into too much detail, the least I can say is, although we werenââ¬â¢t there together for a majority of the time we always had one another for advise and constant motivation. As a kid I would spend a lot of my time reading and I would do so in what I considered my best friend, a huge pine tree in our front yard. As strange as it may sound I fell in love with not only that specific tree, but all trees. Since that time Iââ¬â¢ve never felt any less towards all nature and wildlife and I hope to one day educate on that subject. Iââ¬â¢ll reach that goal because of one thing. Motivation. To give you an inside look at where my motivation comes from and my initial motivation to start college, it starts with my graduation of high school. At this time I was the ripe young age of 18, I had no idea what I wanted or what the future had in store. I was playing in a band and we spent just under 4 years touring the U.S. and parts of the U.K. At that time and that age I felt invincible, little did I know, all great things at some point come to an end. The last few years have been spent working multiple jobs Iââ¬â¢ve hated, waking up each day more and more miserable. Roller Skate Man Analysis free essay sample
The poem ââ¬Å"Roller Skate Manâ⬠by Raymond Souster is about a legless man who gets around on a block of wood strapped to roller-skates. The central purpose of this poem is to make people realize that the way disabled people are treated in society is wrong. That is because the author/narrator describes the man to be physically unappealing by using words such as: ââ¬Å"shrivelled bodyâ⬠, ââ¬Å"freakâ⬠and ââ¬Å"big headâ⬠. The words used to describe him are based on what society thinks of this particular person. It takes place sometime during the rush hour because in the second verse the author says ââ¬Å"â⬠¦speed between silk-stockinged legs â⬠meaning that he is speeding through many people. Also, in the second verse, the geographical setting is given by the author ââ¬Å"â⬠¦Queen Streetâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Also, the fact that the man is clamped on a block of wood and uses his gloved hands to propel himself tells us that he is poor because he cannot afford a wheelchair to go around the city. We will write a custom essay sample on Roller Skate Man Analysis or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Lastly, the central idea of this poem is to overcome obstacles no matter how big. The entire poem contains one extended metaphor about a boat on a river. The development of the metaphor began in verse two when the author compared his hands to paddles, because the man uses his hands to propel himself and navigate around the street and pavement. Next, the author used ââ¬Å"familiar watersâ⬠implying that the street he was on was a river and that he does this often; hence the word familiar. Because of the extended metaphor, we can infer that the block of wood may also be a boat navigating across the waters. When we put all the pieces together we get a full, clear image: The man was getting around on his boat (ââ¬Å"block of woodâ⬠), paddling (ââ¬Å"hands are paddlesâ⬠), speeding against the current (ââ¬Å"Silk-stockinged legsâ⬠) and all of this happening throughout the vast river (ââ¬Å"Queen Streetâ⬠). The tone of the poem was heroic because in a sense the author is praising the man throughout the poem by describing all the things he has to go through every day and the fact that he never gives up (Inner strength). The poem also consisted of much visual imagery. That is because the author gave viewable/perceptible descriptions of the man. For example, in the first verse the author gives a thorough description of the physical attributes of the man. Also, the verses following have visual descriptions of his obstacles/suffering and that too from his own perspective. With these vivid descriptions, the author tries to put us in his shoes and make an attempt to show us what the man has to go through each and every day. Lastly, the diction of the poem was used to express his thoughts. Words and lines such as ââ¬Å"freakâ⬠, ââ¬Å"shrivelled bodyâ⬠and ââ¬Å"flotsam among the jetsam of your worldâ⬠contains negative connotation because that is how society sees him. Also, the author used a few words and phrases to paint a positive image of the man, for instance: ââ¬Å"speed betweenâ⬠, and the extended metaphor of the boat. This made us feel that the man was emotionally strong, had inner strength and was determined to continue his everyday life without the criticism of others.

Through the Prism free essay sample
Words are a medium that reduces reality to abstraction for transmission to our reason, and in their power to corrode reality inevitably lurks the danger that the words will be corroded too. Yukio Mishima in Sun and Steel This sentence, this random assembly of arbitrary symbols, is critical in understanding the prism through which I view the world, and by extension me. When I entered adolescence, I became more intellectually daring. This was probably triggered by a book called Sophies World. A philosophy novel, it offered my first real insight into the way I thought, which I determined wasnt very deeply. I began to view the world as a machine, and my goal was to break it into gears and cranks so that I could understand it all. There was an urge to explore past the surface and truly understand whatever I encountered. Instead of avoiding complex ideas I sought them out, wanting to extract and dissect their meanings. We will write a custom essay sample on Through the Prism or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page It was also around this time that I became a ferocious reader. I thought books could provide the answer to any question if I just looked hard enough. In my mind, words were enough to replace experience. For a while, I was completely satisfied with this way of living. However, as time wore on, I became doubtful of my ability to engage in life through words. I was given the chance to challenge my philosophy during junior year. It was then that I studied in Brittany, France. While its cliched to say travel changes ones life, that was absolutely the case in my experience. A critical part of my time overseas has to be my time with M. M. A passionate socialist, he taught a politics course at the school I attended. With him, it was as though the words of our text lifted off the page. Of course, it helped that I lived in France during one of the most turbulent years the country has faced in recent history. For example, one of the biggest riots Rennes had ever seen happened on my birthday. Indeed, having the public transport system shut down and helicopters swarming in the air added a certain dimension that pages cannot capture. I was also there during the infamous attacks on Charlie Hebdo. Seeing my host mother burst through the door sobbing and hearing the chants of Charlie outside my classroom window moved me to action. Never in my life could I have imagined joining a protest, yet one day I found myself in the streets, holding up signs along with fellow demonstrators. It was then that I realized how I used words as a means of distraction. Instead of completely engaging with reality, I preferred the sanctuary of a book. While they can provide knowledge, books and by extension words cannot perfectly replicate experience. In this way they can be corrosive, limiting how much we truly interact with and understand our world. This realization has stayed with me. Whatever subject I encounter, I want to utterly learn it, not just staying in abstractions. I yearn to see these thoughts in action. As I enter adulthood, I wish to continue to live with such fervor, words and actions coming together to illuminate lifes terra incognita.

An end at the middle here is meant to give the reader an opportunity to look back to that point to see what more is being discussed or to go back to a previous point if they have forgotten. There are many other reasons why an ending at the middle ofa paper may be used. Service Distribution free essay sample
A service can be defined as an essentially intangible benefit either on its own right or as a significant part of a tangible product which through some form of exchange satisfies an identified need (Palmer, 2001). From the dictionary it is said to be a system or organization that provides for a basic public need. Distribution is the process of making a product or service available for use or consumption by a consumer or business user. A channel is simply a route and/or means. We can therefore say that service distribution channels are the routes through which economic activities are allocated, spread or positioned within a given area to create value and provide benefits to customers thus resulting in a desired change of state on the part of the service recipients by making these activities available. There are different types of service offers i. e. â⬠¢Pure tangible good: These are primarily tangible goods with no accompanying service e. We will write a custom essay sample on Service Distribution or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page g. toothpaste, sugar, etc. â⬠¢Tangible goods with accompanying service. Hybrid: consists in equal parts both service and goods e. g. a restaurant offers food (good) as well as ambience (service). â⬠¢Major Service with accompanying goods and services e. g. airline travelers get both the service of transport and goods in form of food and magazines etc. â⬠¢Pure service: is primarily a service offer e. g. massage, etc. Hotels, for example, may sell their services (typically rooms) directly or through travel agents, tour operators, airlines, tourist boards, centralized reservation systems, etc. Services are normally located where the target market is or at points convenient to them e. g. schools, banks, nightclubs, etc. Various factors come into play when choosing a distribution channel. Therefore those designing the channels have to decide what is ideal, feasible and available, but these have to be adjusted according to the situation at hand. Such factors include: Customer characteristics Size of the market, geographical dispersion, etc. Company characteristics The companyââ¬â¢s objectives, financial status, desired degree of control, etc. Intermediary characteristics ââ¬â what markets do they serve? Are they financially stable? Are they feasible? Etc. Competitive characteristics ââ¬â will you use the channels already being used by competitors or your own? Environmental characteristics ââ¬â political, economic, socio-cultural, technological, legal and ecological factors. Channels chosen must be evaluated for: Economy ââ¬â Each chosen channel will produce a different level of sales and costs. The cost of selling different volumes through a sales agency should be weighted against using the companyââ¬â¢s own sales force. Control ââ¬â How much power does the company have over the channel? A sales agency is an independent business firm seeking to maximize its profits and may thus concentrate on the customers who make the most purchases and not on the service offer at hand. Adaptive ââ¬â channel members and the channels make a certain level of commitment to each other and have a certain level of dependency on each other for a certain period of time. In this highly dynamic market, the service provider must look for structures and policies that give him enough room to conform to the current market without incurring unnecessary extra costs. Services are typically distributed through direct channels due to their inseparable nature; however this is not an automatic limitation to a distribution system. There have been some innovations in the distribution of services, improving and increasing the number of ways in which services can be spread out. These include: Direct selling ââ¬â This involves approaching the consumer directly and selling the service directly without use of intermediaries e. . via mail order, internet, door-to-door salesmen and telephone sales. This method is effective in that it allows the seller to obtain immediate feedback and can therefore easily change to suit the situation and the tastes and preferences of the would-be consumer. It also enables the seller to personalize the service to the customerââ¬â¢s specifications. DEMERITS. It is highly influenced by external factors. For example the targeted customer may be rude and /or hostile towards the salesman; language barrier and possibly transport barrier as well as weather may prevent the seller from effectively making his sale. It limits the geographic market that the service seller can reach. Franchising ââ¬â This is the selling of goods or services of a company in a particular area as granted by the company. The company stipulates the details of the business e. g. layout, colors, etc. and in effect controls all the franchiseeââ¬â¢s activities, giving him little or no room for innovation. Through this method the company can easily offer its services in a large geographical area. Franchisees often have to put up some level of capital thus saving the company that expense. The franchising company, therefore only has to give some sort of basic training or manual and a possibly a starter kit. DEMERITS. The franchisee may not have the best interest of the franchise in mind and may concentrate on maximizing sales at the expense of quality. He may also not have mastered the technical details of the service or handle the promotional materials as should be. With the absolute control from the franchiser, the franchisee can not include some of his ideas which may prove beneficial to the business. The franchisee may only have capital thatââ¬â¢s enough to keep the business above water. Examples of franchises include Kenchic, Bata, Hilton hotels etc. Service integration ââ¬â This is whereby services are linked together, particularly in the travel and tourism sectors e. g. some airlines liaise with hotels and car rental firms to provide their passengers with whole packages. This proves to be very convenient especially for the frequent travelers who donââ¬â¢t have the time to go through all these firms and also it tends to be cheaper than employing each of these services individually. DEMERITS Consumer preferences may, however, differ from the integrated ones. The standards of one of the firms in the liaison may not be at per with the others, this maybe detrimental to the reputation of the other firms. Examples include Safaricom in conjunction with Equity bank and Pesa Point. Agents: This is a person who typically sells direct on behalf of the producer e. g. insurance brokers. He is given express authority by the mother company to make sales in their name. He may deal with the products of only one company or with a variety depending on his contractual agreement with the firms.. Agents may be unscrupulous and dishonest and in the process destroy the name of the company. They may also secretly breach contract by dealing with competing products in an attempt to maximize sales and in effect downplay the firm. For example Clear Insurance Brokers, etc. Company staff: these are the sales staff under the direct employment of the service firm. They are on the payroll of the employing service firm. Their main duties include marketing the firm and promoting its service offers. The means and ways in which they carry out their duties is dictated by the firm. They undergo training and orientation into the firm after recruitment and selection. They may lack the proper skills to perform the job effectively and efficiently especially so if recruitment was not done properly. Retail outlets for the service sector. This involves selling the service in small ââ¬Ëbitsââ¬â¢ so to speak e. g. banks retail to individuals and other small account holders while wholesale in their case refers to corporate clients. With the increased need to have individualized, personalized services, more and more service firms have shifted their focus to the individual customer. This point of view reduces their expenses in terms of quantity and number of personnel committed to one client as opposed to several people being served at the same time thus increasing turnover. à Retailers may focus on increase in speed and the number of people that they serve instead of service quality and effective and efficient service delivery. Rapid mushrooming of outlets may lead to eventual collapse of the organization if not well thought out. Automated teller machines (A. T. M) ââ¬â This is a computerized way of distributing services. They are self service booths or kiosks that allow the consumer to pick from a set of predetermined options by using an A. T. M card and a PIN number. They have been widely embraced by banks and are steadily penetrating into other service sectors e. g. the airline industry now has self-check-in terminals if one doesnââ¬â¢t have any luggage to check in. They are conveniently located all over and operate 24 hours a day. They allow service firms e. g. banks to deliver services to places where it might not be feasible to have a whole branch. They are prone to vandalism as there is little or no security around them. Breakdown in the network renders them useless. Rental services a number of service industries, especially those that have hybrid service offers, rent out their tangible products that go hand in hand with the service. A very good example is the catering industry which rents out its facilities e. g. cutlery and crockery as well as the services of the chef and the waiters. Itââ¬â¢s cheaper and involves less hassle than when done by the company because these companies focus solely on their specialty.

An Essay On Why I Should Have Voted For Hillary Clinton In The Election Is Necessary
An Essay On Why I Should Have Voted For Hillary Clinton In The Election Is NecessaryThe current Electoral College system is becoming increasingly untenable and as a result, an essay entitled, Why I Should Have Voted For Hillary Clinton In The Election Is Necessary, Is Considered A Must Read In The Political And Policy Sectors. While it seems to be to the advantage of candidates to have their names on the ballot, the list of political offices that are not even worth considering has grown to ridiculous proportions. It was not too long ago that George W. Bush would have received an overwhelming majority of the votes from the political realm, had he won.Current incumbent, Senator John McCain of Arizona, has refused to endorse John McCain, the Republican candidate for President and this has led to controversy and questioning by the media about the authenticity of his selection as the Republican candidate for the next Presidential election. The Republican establishment in Washington has ha d enough and many of the candidates running for the positions, think tank jobs, and committees will support John McCain or perhaps the Libertarian candidate, Gary Johnson who is, well, a Libertarian. As far as the Electoral College system is concerned, President Barack Obama does not believe that the current system should remain in place, since Senator John McCain of Arizona could have received more votes than either of the Republican Party's nominees, Mitt Romney and John McCain. Indeed, even as Senator John McCain of Arizona faces calls to step down, the National Review Online, The New York Times and other progressive news outlets continue to question whether President Obama will follow through on his promise to make changes to the electoral system. You can find many of the questions about the electoral system at the website, mccaindemocrats.com and also at the 'Questions John McCain would ask' section of his official campaign website. And in light of what some political pundits say the system currently stands, you can see why this is being considered. The challenge is, if a candidate could win an election without having his name on the Democratic or Republican Party's electoral system, and then they do not run for office again, will they still have a seat on the United States' electoral college system? If Senator McCain was elected President, his future political career would be almost nonexistent. He would no longer be on the electoral college map for political positions. It should also be noted that the Presidential race is still a year away and many of the political and policy makers and think tank experts do not agree on a path forward or strategy. It is quite possible that the winner, President Obama, could actually end up being a one term President, something that is not too appealing to many of the voters who voted for Senator McCain. If he was to lose that election, will he have to retire, the American public has to wonder.Hopefully, this essay will she d some light on why the current system is outdated and why it should be abolished. This topic is worth considering and the government should spend the time to examine the possibility of making major changes.

Synthesis Reaction Definition and Examples
Synthesis Reaction Definition and Examples A synthesis reaction or direct combination reaction is one of the most common types of chemical reactions. In a synthesis reaction, two or more chemical species combine to form a more complex product. A B ââ â AB In this form, a synthesis reaction is easy to recognize because you have more reactants than products. Two or more reactants combine to make one larger compound. One way to think of synthesis reactions is that they are the reverse of a decomposition reaction. Synthesis Reaction Examples In the simplest synthesis reactions, two elements combine to form a binary compound (a compound made of two elements). The combination of iron and sulfur to form iron (II) sulfide is an example of a synthesis reaction: 8 Fe S8 ââ â 8 FeS Another example of a synthesis reaction is the formation of potassium chloride from potassium and chlorine gas: 2K(s) Cl2(g) ââ â 2KCl(s) As in these reactions, its common for a metal to react with a nonmetal. One typical nonmetal is oxygen, as in the everyday synthesis reaction of rust formation: 4 Fe (s) 3 O2 (g) ââ â 2 Fe2O3 (s) Direct combination reactions arent always just simple elements reacting to form compounds. Another everyday example of a synthesis reaction is the reaction that forms hydrogen sulfate, a component of acid rain. Here, the sulfur oxide compound reacts with water to form a single product: SO3 (g) H2O (l) ââ â H2SO4 (aq) So far, the reactions you have seen have only one product molecule on the right-hand side of the chemical equation. Be on the lookout for synthesis reactions with multiple products. A familiar example of a more complex synthesis reaction is the overall equation for photosynthesis: CO2 H2O ââ â C6H12O6 O2 The glucose molecule is more complex than either carbon dioxide or water. Remember, the key to identifying a synthesis or direct combination reaction is to recognize two or more reactants form a more complex product molecule! Predicting Products Certain synthesis reactions form predictable products: Combining two pure elements will form a binary compound. The product formed by reacting a metallic oxide and carbon dioxide will be a carbonate.Binary salts react with oxygen to form a chlorate.

This move and announcement prompted the Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York to start investigations into trading treads of ImClone especially the sale of the stock before the announcement of application rejection on Erbitux to the public. The investigations led to the indictment of Martha Stewart and Peter Bacanovic.
