Ralph Ellison, the Prologue of Invisible Man

The prologue introduces us to a name slight teller who is living on the edge of smart set as a proverbial inconspicuous man. The fabricators central struggle revolves close to the involution between how others perceive him and how he perceives himself. He runs obsess with the past, allowing it to set up him in the present. Confined by this, the narrator flees the outside world in search of the license to define himself without the constraints that racism imposes.
